Suggested visits : Start your trip peacefully by visiting Meiji Jingu shrine. Close by is the pedestrian street Takeshita Dori, famous for its many small boutiques. Then, take a walk along Omotesando Avenue to admire the architecture, or do some shopping in the Shibuya district to discover the crazy fashion of Tokyo !

Day 3: Tokyo

Suggested visits : Discover the traditional districts of Asakusa and Ueno where you will travel back in time visiting Senso-ji Temple and Sumida Park. Then, go for some sightseeing in Yanaka, also known as the « old Tokyo ».
If you enjoy electronics and manga, don’t miss the crazy video games in Akihabara district, rediscover the mangas of your childhood and dive in the quirky universe of Cosplay !

Day 4: Tokyo / Hakone
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Hakone with your Hakone Free Pass. Free day.
Suggested visits : You finally meet the famous Fuji mountain, a true symbol of Japan. First go for a visit of the Hakone jinja shrine and its amazing red Torii, then cross the Ashi lake by boat and enjoy the view of the Fuji mountain, if you are lucky enough to get a clear sky…
Go up by cable car to Owakudani, to see the impressive smokes going out of the mountain.
Hakone is also the perfect place to have a bath in the hot springs. Japanese people believe that it is the best way to purify your body and your mind.
This will be most probably the highlight of your trip, the opportunity to enter in the japanese culture. Experience one night in a Ryokan, authentic japanese guest house, where you will relax and adopt the « zen attitude ». Go for a long bath in a Onsen (hot spring, indoor or outdoor) to releive the stress after a long day of visiting. To finish, you will have a tasty and healthy japanese meal with delicious specialties.

Day 5: Hakone / Kyoto
Breakfast at the Ryokan and departure for Kyoto with your in express train (Changing at Odawara). Free day.

Day 6: Kyoto

Suggested visits : Start with a zen walk in the bamboo field of Arashiyama, and visit the Tenryu ji temple. Continue on for plenty of sightseeing in the center, especially in Gion district where you can find the beautiful Geishas. You can stop by Nishiki market, famous for its impressive size and the diverse foods that you can find there.

Day 7: Kyoto

Suggested visits : Don’t leave Kyoto without seeing the fabulous Fushimi Inari shinto shrine and its thousands of red toriis in the middle of the forest. You can do a tour in the south of Higashiyama to discover the Kiyomizu dera temple, the Maruyama koen park, or the Chion in temple. The Nanzen ji temple also worth a visit.
Eventually, you can visit the Kinkakuji, the golden temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the rock garden of Ryoan ji.

Day 8: Kyoto / Hiroshima

Suggested visits : Take the time to reflect on the tragic history of Hiroshima and the astonishing pacifist reconstruction after the nuclear bombing by visiting the Peace Memorial Park and Museum.
Hiroshima proposes many pleasant walks around the Ikari sanctuary or the Shukkei-en Garden, ideal for meditating on the history of the city.

Day 9: Hiroshima

Suggested visits : Don’t pass by the marvelous Miyajima Island: take the ferry to discover this extraordinary island that houses the famous floating Itsukushima Torii, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 10: Hiroshima / Osaka

Suggested visits : Neighboring Kyoto, Osaka is the second largest metropolitan area in Japan and deserves a visit to see the essentials. Visit Osaka Castle, one of the most important castles of the country, which experienced many time periods and conflicts. Continue on to learn more at the Osaka History Museum.
Walk around the districts of Umeda and Namba to do some shopping or try some renowned local gastronomy, or wander the animated streets of Dotonbori in the evening.
If you wish to see more of traditional Japan, visit the Sumiyoshi sanctuary or the Buddhist temple Shitennoji, which is more than 1400 years old!

Day 11: Departure
