Day 1: Jebel Shams
Muscat - Nakhal - Wadi Bani Awf - Jebel Shams - 240 Kilometers (6 - 7 Hours)
Arrive in Muscat. Customs formalities, collection of your luggage and meeting with the guide. Departure in 4x4 for Nakhl to visit its fort. Continue among the palm trees until you reach the Ain Thowarah hot springs, before entering the gorges of Wadi Bani Awf, considered the most beautiful "off road" in all of Oman. For about two hours you enter deep gorges, with the road winding between the rocks. You will discover villages nestled in the mountains, such as the picturesque Bilad Sayt. The road begins to climb at Snake Gorge, a spectacular crevice in the mountains.
Arrive at Jebel Shams, the mountain of the sun, known for the Omani Grand Canyon. Photo stop to admire the beauty of the Canyon from above. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Nizwa
Jebel Shams - Al Hamra - Misfat - Jabel Akdhar - Nizwa - 218 Kilometers (6 Hours)
After breakfast we descend from the mountains to visit the ancient villages of Al Hamra and Misfat, with old houses among palm trees and crops. Continue to Birkat Al Mauz, where you can admire the Falaj (artificial canal) included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site and the ancient village with mud houses. We set off again for the mountain, towards the mountains of Jabel Akdhar. Short walk among the villages famous for the cultivation of roses and orchards, thanks to the favorable climate. Arrive Nizwa for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Al Khaluf
Nizwa - Al Khaluf - 385 Kilometers (7 - 8 Hours)
Wake up early in the morning to go to the souq animated by the livestock market held in Nizwa every Friday. Men in traditional clothes this day come to the city from different parts of the country to buy and sell animals. Afterwards you have time to browse the shops in the souk before visiting the Fort.
Departure towards Al Khaluf beach, one of the most beautiful and pristine in the country. Arriving at the beach is always a magical moment. For this evening your guide will help you set up the tented camp, with igloo tents. Dinner under the stars will be unforgettable. Overnight in tent (there are no toilets).
Day 4: Masirah Island
Al Khaluf - Masirah Island - 133 Kilometers (4 - 5 Hours)
Early in the morning, after breakfast on the beach, we break camp and leave towards Shannah, to take the ferry to Masirah Island. With the 4x4 you cross pristine beaches and unique views of the Omani coast. After about an hour of crossing you will reach the island. Overnight at hotel on Masirah Island.
Day 5: Masirah Island
Masirah Island - 130 Kilometers (4 Hours)
Full day at leisure with the guide to discover the natural beauty of the island. The sighting of turtles will be possible more between September and December and that of whales from February to March. Overnight at hotel on Masirah Island.
Day 6: Wahiba Sands
Masirah - Wahiba Sands - 298 Kilometers (6 - 7 Hours)
Return to the mainland by ferry and continuation by 4x4 towards the Wahiba desert. "Dune crossing" before arriving in the fixed tented camp. You travel about 180 km among the sand dunes, passing next to the largest mosque in the desert wanted by Sultan Kaboos for the local population. Weather permitting, we will climb a dune to admire the sunset. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 7: Muscat
Wahiba Sands - Wadi Bani Khalid - Muscat - 295 Kilometers (6 Hours)
In the morning, we leave the desert by visiting a Bedouin house. Continuation to Wadi Bani Khalid where it is possible to swim in the crystal-clear waters of the wadi (women, out of respect for the local population, are invited to wear a t-shirt).
Return to Muscat. In the afternoon visit the Muttrah souq and photo stop at the Al Alam Palace with the Jalali and Mirani Forts in the background.
Day 8:
Muscat
After breakfast transfer to the airport. Stop to visit the Grand Mosque.
