Day 1: Muscat
Muscat
Arrive in Muscat. After the customs formalities and having collected your luggage, meet in the arrivals area with the representatives of provider. Private transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Jebel Shams
Muscat – Jabel Shams
After breakfast, meeting with the guide at the hotel and departure for the visit of the Grand Mosque of Muscat. Then the journey begins at a time of Jabel Shams, the mountain of the sun, entering between the Hajar Mountains and Wadi Bani Awf, between rocks and hidden villages. (Wadi bani Awf off road is subject to weather conditions. If this road is not viable due to bad weather or impassable road, an alternative route will be taken).
Lunch in a local restaurant inside the wadi or picnic. Arrival at Jabel Shams (2000 meters), the Omani Grand Canyon. Accommodation at the Jabel Shams Resort. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Wahiba Sands
Jabal Shams – Nizwa – Sharqiya Sands
After breakfast we descend the mountain towards Nizwa, the cultural capital of the Sultanate. Visit the souk and the famous fort. Lunch in a local restaurant. Afterwards we leave towards the desert of Sharqiya Sands, entering the dunes before reaching the camp.
At sunset you reach the top of a dune to admire the setting of the sun. Dinner and overnight the camp.
Day 4: Al Khaluf
Sharqiya Sands – Al Khaluf (Camping)
In the morning, we leave towards the sea, crossing the entire Sharqiya desert from north to south. A few photo stops are scheduled before arriving on the coast, where large salt flats and beaches await you where flocks of birds fly up to the passage of cars. In the afternoon, a spot on the pristine beach of Al Khaluf will be chosen for setting up the mobile tented camp. Participants are invited to help set up the tents, while the guide and drivers will take care of the dinner, served under the stars! Dinner and overnight at Khaluf in camping.
Necessary for camping: sleeping bag, pillow for those who wish, torch, wet wipes (there are no toilets, in any case there will be water available to cool off). Mattresses and individual tents, chairs and tables are provided.
Day 5: Duqm
Al Khaluf – Ras Madrakha – Duqm – Beginning of the omanian panorama route
Early in the morning, after a good breakfast, we break camp and head south again, among beaches and coves that are still authentic, such as those in Ras Madrakha. Stop in Wadi Dafrah, to admire the flamingos and other species of birds, and in Rock Garden where there are bizarre rock formations. In the afternoon arrival in Duqm, where the overnight stay in the hotel is foreseen. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Wadi Ash Schuwaimiyyah
Duqm – Shuwamiyah (Camping) - The omanian panorama route
The journey continues south, in the direction of Wadi Shuwamiyah and its imposing cliffs of white and ocher limestone. Along the way there are several photographic stops along this panoramic road still little known to tourism. If you are lucky, you will be able to admire dolphins and sea turtles swimming in the blue waters of the ocean from the coast. In the late afternoon the campsite is set up on the beach. This evening is the last night at the campsite.
Day 7: Salalah
Shuwamiyah – Salalah – End of the omanian panorama route
After breakfast and having dismantled the camp, we leave in the direction of Salalah. Visit of Wadi Shuwamiya, its pool of water invites you to take a pleasant bath, immersed in a unique landscape context. The scenic road continues to Salalah, with several viewpoints to capture. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Salalah
East & West Salalah
In the morning departure to start the tour of the eastern part of Salalah, with a visit to the fishing village of Taqah, famous for drying sardines, and the ancient traditional houses of Dhofar. Continue to the ancient ruins of the famous city of Sumharam (Khor Rohri).
A picturesque road leads to Mirbat, the old capital of Dhofar and the start of the incense route. The ancient mud houses overlook the streets. Drive back to western Salalah to explore the natural springs of “Ayn Razat” surrounded by mountains and the waters that naturally flow from the ground. From here we reach "Qara mountains" to visit the west side of Salalah. On the way camel caravans flow along the rim, a traditional rural beauty of Dhofar. Arrival at Mughsail beach, where you can touch the white sand and the deep blue of the sea. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 9:
East & West Salalah - Muscat
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to take your flight back via Muscat.
